The City’s busline has new name and a new logo, but step aboard and you’ll find the same reliable service and drivers and convenient routes of the former Pasadena Area Rapid Transit System (ARTS).The new brand, introduced Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015 by City officials and representatives from ArtCenter College of Design, is intended to reflect the important growth of Pasadena Transit since it began in 1994.Also on hand for the official introduction was ArtCenter graduate Julie Yeow, who developed the clean, bold logo and branding materials for the City’s Department of Transportation. Yeow described the theme as retaining a “friendly energy” that communicates Pasadena Transit’s primary goal of connecting people and places in Pasadena. To convey the theme of making connections, Yeow integrated iconic images of Pasadena including the Colorado Street Bridge, the national historical landmark Pasadena City Hall, the Civic Auditorium and ArtCenter. From its humble beginnings 21 years ago as a one-line, free, local “shopper shuttle” to one of the largest, locally funded public bus systems in Los Angeles County, Pasadena Transit now offers six distinct routes that connect more than 1.5 million passengers each year to local destinations in Pasadena as well as to regional public bus systems and light rail stations. In addition to the new look and name, City officials announced that Pasadena Transit’s 25-bus fleet is now equipped with data transmission technology that provides customers with real-time arrival info via the web, smart phones or tablet devices. Passengers can access the real-time arrival data from Pasadena Transit buses by calling 511 or going online to www.Go511.com, www.pasadenatransit.net, or Google Maps. The real-time bus arrival technology was made possible by grants from the U.S. government and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The Pasadena Transit fleet includes 19 of the 32-foot-long, 27-seat buses and six 25-foot-long, 20-seat buses. All buses use CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) fuel; can accommodate wheelchairs and have bicycle racks at the front of the buses. The branding campaign was a collaborative, multi-year effort by the City with ArtCenter College of Design, a global leader in art and design education. Year after year in similar collaborations, major companies from around the world in the technology, fashion, sports apparel, automotive and manufacturing industries work with ArtCenter students and faculty on their marketing, branding and logo campaigns.Stay connected to the City of Pasadena! 5 Ds of an optimized overdraft protection program

first_imgDebit Denial Tracking The use of paper checks continues to decline, while payments by debit card are on a steep upward trajectory. It is no surprise then that a significant amount of overdrafts today are the result of debit card and ATM transactions. Of course, in order to provide overdraft services and charge an overdraft fee for these types of transactions, your institution must have obtained an affirmative Reg. E opt-in decision from the accountholder. Unfortunately, when the Reg E opt-in rule was implemented in 2010, most institutions relied on a one-time communication to existing accountholders. If an accountholder did not contact the institution to opt in, then very likely the institution performed no follow-up to receive decision (either an opt out or opt in).Your overdraft program must be able to track these ATM/debit card transactions denied for reasons of NSF and match them to specific accountholders. With this data in hand, you can communicate to these individuals about the ‘debit denial’ event as well as their options for overdraft coverage. However, this type of dynamic communication—that is triggered by a specific event—can only happen if your overdraft software accommodates it.Dynamic CommunicationDynamic communication allows your institution to customize the timing and message to accountholders (by phone call, email or letter) to achieve optimal results. For instance, contacting a person has not made a Reg E decision, but who has just experienced a debit denial can increase Reg E opt-ins and, therefore, income opportunities. Likewise, sending a 10-day collection letter to an accountholder who historically repays his overdrafts within a 15-day period is impersonal. Tailoring collection communications based on dynamic factors can reduce communication expenses anywhere from 20% to 40%.Dynamic Detailed ReportsOptimizing your overdraft program is reliant on the data it produces. And there is no better way to analyze the data than thorough the use of automated reports designed for various levels in your organization. In fact, regulators state clearly that management “should exercise appropriate oversight through receipt and review of regular reports.”Your overdraft system should produce reports that monitor overall program performance, overdraft limits and excessive overdrafts, among others, in order to make appropriate plan adjustments. The overdraft software should include capabilities to create ad hoc queries to meet custom information needs, and an executive desktop summary for overall monitoring.Dedication to ComplianceIt goes without saying that providing overdraft protection is one of the most highly scrutinized business practices in the financial industry. As a result, your overdraft program must be, first and foremost, compliance-driven.Overdraft providers/programs that place a premium on compliance, provide:Expertise with regard to regulations and the ever-changing landscape. An established set of best practices that adhere to all overdraft regulations.Compliance updatesAnnual review of program performance including recommendations for enhanced performance and complianceChoose an overdraft protection program that can successfully help you manage overdrafts to manage risk and provide world-class service to your accountholders. Overdraft protection programs may be the source of trepidation for some financial institutions, but the fact is, overdrafts are not going away and consumers have spoken: they want short-term liquidity options, including overdraft protection. If your financial institution strives to provide (or already provides) overdraft protection for those consumers who choose to access it, make sure the program includes these ‘five Ds’ of a compliant, customer-focused service:Dynamic Overdraft LimitsAssigning fixed overdraft limits—where all accountholders of a particular account type receive the same limit—is a thing of the past. Or at least they should be, if you listen to regulators who want financial institutions to: monitor “the individual credit worthiness of accountholders” to identify risks and detect “potential changes to repayment capacity with respect to the overdraft product.”Using dynamic overdraft limits addresses these directives by establishing limits based on an accountholder’s ability to repay a potential overdraft. As the potential ability changes on a daily basis, so does the limit.Automatically calculating and customizing overdraft limits allows the financial institution to:Approve/pay more overdrafts for those who can afford it (while pulling back for those who cannot)Incur less risk with fewer charge-offsSave time making fewer pay/return decisionsGuard against disparate or unfair ad hoc decisioning 11SHARESShareShareSharePrintMailGooglePinterestDiggRedditStumbleuponDeliciousBufferTumblr,Jeff Harper Jeffrey Harper brings more than 25 years of industry experience to his position as president of BSG Financial Group.  where he heads up the Sales and Marketing divisions of the … Web: www.bsgfinancial.com Detailslast_img read more

Premier League come up with concrete proposals to finish season: report

first_imgThey have also suggested August 22 as the date for the start of the 2020/21 campaign. The main sticking point, though, remains the lack of tests available.Should the season be unable to resume — the Dutch championship was abandoned without promotion or relegation on Friday — it would be a financial nightmare for the clubs.Measures being taken to alleviate some of that has seen the EPL link up with DLA Piper — a law firm that has advised on TV rights deals for the league in the past — on an emergency loan fund, with a maximum of £10 million ($12.4 million) per club. Some clubs have taken measures agreed with their players to ease the financial burden.Southampton, West Ham United, Sheffield United and Watford have agreed deferrals with their first-team squads while the majority of Arsenal’s players have agreed a 12.5 percent wage reduction.Share on: WhatsApp London, United Kingdom | AFP | The English Premier League are eyeing a resumption of the season on June 8, behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic, and reaching a climax on July 27, according to The Times. The paper claims football chiefs, along with other sports governing bodies, have been holding talks with the British government about when they can resume and at only “approved grounds”.The Premier League has 92 games remaining since it suspended the season on March 13 with Liverpool agonisingly close to their first ever EPL title. The Times says Premier League bosses shared their idea ‘Project Restart’ with the shareholders last week. The matches would be played behind closed doors — a maximum of 400 people would be pemitted to attend including media though only if they tested negative for the virus — and at selected stadia to limit stretching the limited resources of the medical services.Extra changing facilities would be introduced to ensure social distancing measures were in place whilst players would be required to turn up for training individually and already in their kit.last_img read more

Team South Africa gets rhino mascot

These include the 2013 World Games in Columbia, the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Scotland, the 2015 All Africa Games, and the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.Sascoc says it plans to create a national identity for events such as these, and this strategy includes having the same mascot for international tournaments, to bring the country together behind Team SA.Highlighting the plight of real rhinosThe name chukuru is a Southern African word for rhinoceros, in the Setswana language. The Sascoc mascot features the five colours of the Olympic rings around its horn, but fittingly these are also the colours of the South African flag. The cheerful animal was designed by the Johannesburg-based Mortimer Harvey advertising agency, and saw off competition from over 100 entries to make it to the final six and then claim top spot, winning by a margin of 233 over its closest rival.“We knew, straight away that this was a-once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said designer Vanessa de Castro. “It was a chance to create something that would represent our Olympic team and the hopes and pride of the entire country. It doesn’t get better than that.”Codesigner Prudence Tshikalange was elated, saying that the design team was “honoured and humbled”.Mortimer Harvey also hopes that the national sporting mascot will raise awareness about the poaching crisis affecting real-life rhinos. With almost 160 animals already killed for their horns in South Africa alone in the first quarter of 2012, and reports of even rhino exhibits being vandalised for the horns, there is a growing worldwide call for toughter action against and harsher punshment for poachers.last_img read more

Focused Proteas thump Pakistan

first_img11 June 2013South Africa produced a focused and intense performance when they most needed it to crush Pakistan by 67 runs in front of a lively crowd in an ICC Championships Trophy Group B match at Edgbaston on Monday. On a difficult pitch, in a game they had to win to keep their semi-finals hopes alive, the Proteas posted 234 for 9 after AB de Villiers elected to bat, and then bowled the Pakistanis out for 167 in 45 overs. With Graeme Smith, Jacques Kallis, Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel all missing the team was without four of its leading players, but Hashim Amla was still there and he delivered a man-of-the-match winning performance by scoring 81 off 97 deliveries with the bat.Superb bowlingRyan McLaren, meanwhile, continued to put on an excellent impression of Kallis by following up his unbeaten 71 against India with a superb 4 for 19 in eight overs with the ball against the Pakistanis.Pakistan’s fragile batting was once again their undoing. Of the South African top six, only David Miller missed out on reaching 20 (by a single run), while only two of the Pakistanis made it past 20. In fact, only four players in their entire innings hit double figures and those are stats that are not going to win any team many games. At the post-match presentations, captain AB de Villiers said: “A lot of things pleased me. I am really delighted. I thought we played great cricket against India and were so disappointed to come up short there, but it makes this victory so much sweeter.“We’ve got a lot of support from back home and to get a victory likes this makes it a lot better.”‘We performed really well’Summing up the team’s performance, De Villiers said: “We performed really well in all areas. We got more than 200 against a quality bowling attack on a tough wicket. Not a lot of teams would have achieved that, I believe, even though I believe we could have got to 250 at the end. It was still a good score on a tough wicket.“Then, the bowlers, bowling together as a unit today, and the three spinners bowling really well, was very pleasing.”De Villiers also paid tribute to fast bowler Chris Morris, who flew out to join the team after Morne Morkel injured himself in their first march against India. Sharing the new ball with Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Morris showed no nerves in his first one-day international as he sent Imran Farhat and Mohammed Hafeez packing with only 18 runs on the board. He went on to finish with figures of 2 for 25 in seven overs.SolidAmla, opening with Colin Ingram for the first time, gave South Africa a solid if somewhat slow foundation of 53 for the opening wicket before Ingram was out in the 15th over for 20.AB de Villiers and JP Duminy threatened later in the innings, but they were both run out, as were Chris Morris and Aaron Phangiso in the chase for runs in the dying overs of the innings. After Amla, De Villiers’ 31 was the next highest score, followed by 28 from Faf du Plessis. “The wicket was a bit difficult up front,” Amla said when he received the man of the match award.Pakistan’s bowling“Obviously they bowled quite well and as the ball got older the wicket turned more and made it even tougher to score,” Amla said. “Fortunately, we got a few mini-partnerships going and that managed to propel us to 230-odd.”Chasing 235 for victory, Pakistan never really got out of the blocks after Morris sent Farhat’s stumps flying in the second over.Misbah ul-Haq, as he had against the West Indies, played a captain’s knock and finished the top scorer with 55 off 75 balls, while Nasir Jamshed weighed with 42, but it took him 76 deliveries to put together.Opening the bowling with Morris, Lonwabo Tsotsobe showed a welcome return to form as he picked up 2 for 23 in nine overs, while between them, Aaron Phangiso, JP Duminy and Robin Peterson sent down 21 overs of spin bowling and claimed 2 for 93 at 4.4 runs per over.Last group gameSouth Africa next face the West Indies in their final group match at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Friday, and there was good news for the team ahead of the match. To cheers from Proteas supporters, skipper De Villiers revealed: “Dale [Steyn] will most probably be ready for the next game. We missed him the last two, but it’s great to see other guys step up and once we get that injection from Dale we’ll be an even better team and that’s exciting.”Would you like to use this article in your publication or on your website? I have fine hair and these extensions are not bulky so work well. I truly loved this product, great with heated products and a lovely length that looks like real hair. People do not know i am wearing extensions. The colour mix is superb and very natural looking. Brought so i could dye with directions hair dye – rubine and they come out a beautiful dark rich purple red. Due to the hair being different shades it added a new dimension to the dying making it look much more dynamic instead of a flat single colour. The hair is easy to put in, thick, and you can straighten it. A bit lighter than expected, were a fair product for the price. Would of been better if thicker, but for price not bad. Clips are secure, colour match is very good. I’m pretty impressed and i had lots of compliments about them. My hair is quite fine, so was looking to add thickness to my hair. There were no instructions which i found disappointing, as i haven’t used this sort of thing before, it stated that instructions would be included 🙁 the wefts were not very thick at all, actually finer than my own hair . However the colur match was a fantastic match to my own, but would recommend the double weft instead of the single. I was dubious with the colour match as i have light brown hair with blonde highlights and have never thought i could get extensions to match. Delivery was fast and they are a perfect match for my hair. Very thin but a perfect match for highlighted hair, just wish i had got longer ones instead. Great hair colour match, well impressed. People thought it was my own hair when worn down. Well at first i was a bit scared. . But needed them as i went mad with the scissors chopping at my hair. (advised not to copying diy) lol. So need something to help get my confidence bk. . So i looked on line typed in blondy/brown 14inch remember hair and bingo::: my amazon. was there again to help out. 8 or 9 pieces of beautiful remi hair. Now my hair is thin and i only brought one pack. Great seller quick to deal with minore issue 5*. Amazing hair i buy lots off hair off amazon and can defo say this is fantastic quality hair i love it, star buy just wish they sold my colour longer leafgh 👌. Bought for my daughter for xmas & she loves them. Slightly lighter than her natural color but give perfect highlights. Fantastic quality, she’s washed them, straightened them & curled them with perfect results each time. Little thin on the ends but other than that great colour. Natural colours – as seen – dark and light blondes. Not at all reds as someone else said. Plenty of pieces, beautiful hair, good solid quality clips, firm and stay in well. Berry berry happy with my order and good price thank you x. SummaryReviewer Nathalie DuboisReview Date2019-10-17 05:00:36Reviewed Item supermodel 14 inch LIGHT BROWN/ BLONDE MIX (Col 8/613). Full Head Clip in Human Hair Extensions. High quality Remy Hair!. 100g WeightRating 4.5 / 5  stars, based on  26  reviews good colour – quite long so can easily shorten Thanks lovely quality and colour. Bit lighter than pic but expected. These are really easy to use, and look amazing. I had reservations about extentions as my colour is not the easiest to match. After ordering these i was pleasantly surprised, the match was brilliant, curls well, brushes well, for the money its flipping brilliant. My only disappointment would be that they are quite thin so against my very thick hair, it kinda looks like rat tails. I will definitely use these but i think it could only ever be for when i want a glamorous up-do rather than having it down. Wasn’t too keen on these, but i got a refund without any hastle so can’t fault them. I truly loved this productcenter_img Excellent extensions.
